What’s Aldara Cream Imiquimod 5%?
Aldara is a prescription medication that strengthen the immune system. It is generally used on patients who had intense sun exposure (actinic keratosis) on the scalp and face.
Aldara Cream is used to treat minor form of skin cancer called superficial basal cell carcinoma, when surgery is not an appropriate treatment.
Aldara also treats genital warts that appear on the outside of the body, but this medicine is not a cure for genital for genital warts. Imiquimod may be used in adults and children who are at least 12 years.
How To Use Aldara Cream?
Make sure you follow your healthcare provider prescription. Follow the indications that have been given to you.
As any topical treatment, wash your hands and gently clean the area you will be applying the cream on. Wait for the area of treatment to dry naturally. Drying time is about 15 minutes on average. Apply the cream once the skin is dry. Wash your hands with soap after using the cream. For optimal results, use surgical gloves so that only the treated area absorbs the cream. If the skin is wounded, burned or broken, wait until the conditions heal before using Aldara.
Aldara Cream can be used twice a week for a period of 16 weeks.
